What is the minimum age to volunteer?
16 at Nissan and Geodis
18 at Bridgestone
What will I be doing?
Customer service, food handling (cooking and prepping), stocking, and cleaning
How much will I make?
Depending on the venue...
Bridgestone minimum: $80
Geodis minimum: $80
Nissan minimum: $100
How do I get paid?
All payments are made via check to the approved entity that you or your child are participating in. Extracurricular activities could be dance, cheer, baseball, soccer, football, softball, high school expenses, college expenses, etc.
How long does it take for funds to be available after working an event?
All payments are made from the venue 3 - 4 weeks after the day of the event.
What days/times are available?
Weekdays, Weekends and the call times (time you have to be at the venue) vary based on the event and venue
What licenses/training (and costs) do we have to have in order to work events?
Nissan - TABC (18 and over, state issued, $55 can be taken online or in person), Serv-Safe Food Handler ($20 online or in person)
What is the dress code/uniform?
Faithful Waymaker tshirt ($10 deducted from your first event), black pants and black non-slip shoes or tennis shoes.
YOU MAY NOT WEAR::::
~~~~~ Joggers, Leggings, Jeggings, Cargo Pants, Jeans, Yoga Pants, Tank Tops, Crocs, Sandels, or anything with holes in it.
Do we have to wear badges with lanyards? Is there a cost to that?
Yes we wear our BIG WHY purple name tags and those are issued once you get your TABC. Cost is $5
Are there specific brands of shoes that are recommended for comfort and non slippage?
Comfortable black non-slip or tennis shoes (Hokas, New Balance, food service non-slip service, etc)
What best practices are there for staying hydrated while working? What type of water bottles can we bring?
Unopened water bottles may be brought into all venues however no metal or strong plastic cups.
How do I sign up for events?
For your initial event you sign up on the event waitlist as needed from the Weekly Needs post and then once you have worked 3 events you gain access to the full Event Spreadsheet.
How much can I work
You may work as many events per month as you like, however the requirement is to work at least 3 events per month.
How long are the shifts?
Events can go from 5 - 8 hours depending on the event and some can be all day
